Behind the cut is the most recent theme I've written for my Teen Titans Terra and Beast Boy Romance Challenge. The theme is dream, and I thought it would be the perfect one to write on this day.

The day I met Terra, I thought I'd seen an angel. And she actually laughed at my jokes. I loved the way her hair always fell in front of her eyes, giving me an excuse to touch her face and brush it away. The thing was getting up enough courage to do it. It never happened.

But I did get up the courage to ask her out. She said no, and I thought I had messed things up with her, but she changed her mind. That night I had the greatest pie in the history of pie with the greatest girl in the history of girls. We rode all kinds of rides and played games at the amusement park. I almost kissed her. Almost! But Slade had to show up. He told me she had been working for him, and I didn't believe him. But she had been. It felt like someone ripped out my heart and did a tap dance on it.

Now that some time has passed, I think I understand why she did it. She didn't think she had a choice. Slade helped her, and she had to repay him. When we finally got her to understand that, she sacrificed herself to save the city from Slade and the volcano.

I have a dream that one day we'll be able to turn her back. I have a dream that one day I'll hold her in my arms again. I have a dream that one day we'll finally finish that kiss that Slade interrupted. I have a dream...and I won't stop trying until it comes true.

And then we'll all join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!" The end!

Yes, I added part of King's speech in there. *shrug* It just seemed like something Beast Boy would do.
