Well, I picked Isaiah to start my speed-reading (see previous post). I've had to stop and start up again, just because my eyes hurt. I don't think they are used to reading that fast. I'm amazed, though, and how much I can comprehend reading at a faster speed. It's hard though, cause I'm used to reading it to myself in my head...like actually hearing my voice in my head like I was reading aloud. I think that's what slows me down mostly. Still, I've read a good deal of Isaiah in about two hours (if you take out the rest time). I'm not sure if I will finish before bed or not. We'll have to see, I guess.

There are three levels of speed, so you're going over the text three times. The first time you spend about 4 seconds a page, reading headings but also passing over the whole text. Second time through you slow down to about half the previous speed, reading headings, subheadings and specially underlined parts and again just passing over the whole text. Third time through, you read every word, aiming for one or two pages a minute. I still can't believe I got through 2/3 of Isaiah that fast, not to mention I understood what I was reading. I even remember what chapter was my favorite (25). I'm not done, so my fave may change, but I remembered the number! I never remember stuff like that! I'm going to try to finish the Bible before the end of the year. Wish me luck!
